How does Fuze connect to legacy endpoints?

Does Fuze Telepresence Connect build a SIP/H.323 trunk to existing Call Control (VCS/CUCM/CMA/DMA)?  Do these "legacy" endpoints register to Fuze Telepresence Connect as a Gatekeeper?  Or will the "legacy" endpoints simply call a URI or IP address residing on the Fuze Telepresence Connect device in the DMZ?

I've been trying to get this question answered, as well. I've spoken to a support person on the phone who told me he would have a sales engineer call to talk with me. Two different times. I have yet to hear from a sales engineer.

Fuze Meeting connects to any H323 or SIP videoconferencing endpoint such as Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg, and LifeSize. The video endpoint's address is saved in the Fuze Telepresence Connect (very much like how a gatekeeper works when it comes to a list of IPs pointing to extensions) and the Fuze user's contact list sync with it. For example, when the host of the Fuze meeting wants to invite the board room, they type "Board Room" in the attendee list during the meeting and Fuze will connect the system in the board room into the meeting. Also, the endpoints can simply call into the meeting by URI: meeting_id@fuze_ip, or fuze_ip##meeting_id.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need additional details. Also happy to connect with you live for an overview.

Best Regards,
